Know the symptoms of stroke & heart attack!

I could write pages and pages about the symptoms that occur in strokes and heart attacks. However, the point here is to be as concise as possible so that if you ever have or witness the symptoms, you can make a quick decision to call 9-1-1!

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has an excellent mnemonic for strokes: FAST

F—Face: Ask the person to smile. Does one side of the face droop?
A—Arms:
Ask the person to raise both arms. Does one arm drift downward?
S—Speech:
Ask the person to repeat a simple phrase. Is their speech slurred or strange?
T—Time:
If you observe any of these signs, call 9-1-1 immediately.

FYI There are 2 types of strokes and each is treated differently in the hospital:

By knowing these symptoms you can save a life one day, so please take a minute to learn them well.
